Position: Executive Director

Twin Valley Developmental Services, Inc. (TVDSI), a nonprofit in Kansas is seeking a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to lead its operations in two rural Kansas counties. TVDSI provides services to people with intellectual or developmental disabilities in Marshall and Washington counties to serve our mission of enriching the lives of the people we serve and their families. We are a close knit organization of 75 staff serving 80 people, with an annual operating budget of nearly $5 million. Incorporated in 1976 by families looking to improve the lives of individuals with IDD, TVDSI continues to grow to meet today's challenges.

The CEO is responsible for the overall operation and management of the programs and facilities operated by the Board of Directors as well as directing the operations of the CDDO. The CEO oversees the overall administration and programs of the organization. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors and works with the Board to fulfill the organization's mission through programs, strategic planning, community relations, and develops resource s to ensure the financial health of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the development, training, and orientation of the Board of Directors.
  • Helps maintain the corporate and legal existence of the organization under the direction of the Board of Directors.
  • Promotes effective operation of all programs within the organization to include, but not limited to, meeting KDADS licensing regulations, Department of Labor regulations, etc.
  • Presents to the Board of Directors management reports to assist them in their decision-making process to develop policies by which the agency operates.
  • Ensures that an effective leadership team is in place.
  • Ensures a high quality of services to the individual served that pro motes independence, community integration, and quality of life that are provided in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Seeks out and negotiates with potential funders to achieve organizational goals.
  • Responsible for all phases of personnel administration including but not limited to developing staffing patterns, hiring/ dismissing staff, in-service training, etc.
  • Oversees financial administration, including budgeting, payroll administration, cost accounting and maintenance of comprehensive financial and other records.
  • Oversees agency public relations, programs to include but not limited to brochures, publications, presentations, etc.
  • Assists the President of the Board in preparing TVDSI board meetings including agendas and materials for presentations.
  • Works cooperatively with other service provider organizations and state offices.
  • Presents positive, fair, and accurate image of Twin Valley Developmental Services to public.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The ideal candidate will have experience in the human services field with strong decision making and prioritization skills. We need a leader who can strategically guide our organization, successfully marrying the needs of our agency and those we serve with federal and state requirements. Additional needed skills and experience include budget management, leadership, and excellent communication abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, but may be substituted with related experience. Five years’ experience in service delivery to persons with intellectual/ developmental disabilities or a related field and five years' experience in management preferred. Driving record must be acceptable to Twin Valley's insurance carrier. Must qualify for bonding by TVDSI insurance carrier.

Position: Residential Director

At MCDS, our success is grounded in our respected reputation-serving individuals with disabilities in Kansas communities for over 40 years.  The Residential Director is a member of our management team that reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO). Responsibilities include managing all aspects of the MCDS Residential Department including the hiring, management and motivation of roughly 100 staff including supervisors and managers.  The Residential Director must ensure that quality services are delivered accurately and timely as well as documented thoroughly.  Additional responsibilities include managing a large budget and interacting with senior staff as well as outside stakeholders including families and guardians.

A Bachelor’s degree in a human services or related field required.  Excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as, computer skills are necessary. Position: Director of Marketing and Development

Under the supervision of the President/CEO, the Director of Marketing & Development promotes, builds, and maintains the agency’s overall brand and financial wellness. Duties include, but are not limited to event planning, donor interaction, public representation of the organization, design work and social media presence. This position is centered around community relationships and people interaction. A very flexible schedule and the ability to work additional hours during “event seasons” is a must. This position is exempt/salaried and wage is dependent upon qualifications, work history, and skill sets.

Position: Area Director

Summary:  Supports the Mission, Philosophies and Goals for the Agency.  Oversee supports provided to Individuals with developmental disabilities by complying with state and federal standards, supervising subordinates and by adhering to company standards established for occupancy, compliance, and efficiency.  Adhere to the mission of the operation locations by developing, coordinating, and implementing services that support Individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving their chosen life style.  This position is committed to helping Individuals with developmental disabilities in maximizing their level of independence and quality of life.

NOTE:  COF operations are 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Therefore, it should be clearly understood that working non-standard hours is the rule rather than the exception.

Position: Case Manager - Pratt, Kansas

Responsible for the management of client programs and services, including the management of a caseload as assigned.  Bachelor’s degree and 6 months experience in disability supports or the requirements for the State of Kansas to include a minimum of 6 months experience in the field of human services and either a Bachelor’s degree or additional experience in ID/.DD field which may be substituted for the degree at the rate of 6 months of full time experience for each missing semester of college.  $29,120-$41,132

Position: Program Director

This is a full-time, salaried exempt position and serves on the management team of The Arc. The Program Director is responsible for The Arc’s Special Projects Department and all programs and events connected to this department.  The Program Director ensures dependable, safe and appropriate programming for those The Arc serves. The Program Director is heavily involved in fund-raising activities as they relate to special events.

Position: Marketing and Development Director

This is a full-time, salaried exempt position and serves on the management team of The Arc. The Marketing and Development Director is responsible for overseeing all of The Arc’s development efforts, including but not limited to special events, annual appeals, grant development, capitol campaigns and donor development and recognition.  They will also oversee outreach and marketing efforts to reach new families, promote programming and events, reach the greater community and attract new donors.

Position: Regional Manager – Community Living

 (1-FT)  M-F 10:00-6:30.  Regional Managers have a leadership role in coordinating residential services for individuals with intellectual/development disabilities, monitoring quality of services, and managing the Direct Support team.  Requires supervisory experience, 6 months I/DD experience, BS/BA degree or comparable experience, valid driver’s license, and good driving record.  EOE ketch.org

The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service and support to make a positive impact in the lives of people with developmental and related disabilities and their families.  This position coordinates and monitors the quality of services and resources offered to persons served, and ensures the delivery of adequate and appropriate services according to the persons person centered support plan.  Flexibility and strong organizational skills will be key components of this position.  Successful candidates will also have strong interpersonal skills and strong computer skills for maintaining accurate records.
